Children's Activities Keep the little ones busy and entertained all day with a host of children’s activities. There are inflatables throughout the festival, a great way for the kids to burn off excess energy. Plus, no matter where you are in the park, you are sure to run into some of our roving entertainment which includes jugglers, mascots, clowns, magicians and a balloon artist. There is never a dull moment at Valleyfest, and the kid’s interactive activities ensures fun for all ages.

Oreo Stacking Contest for Children Sponsored by Nabisco & Yokes Saturday, September 21, Noon - 4:00 PM Sunday, September 22, Noon - 4:00 PM The world’s best selling cookies are celebrating their 100th birthday!

On March 6, 1912, The National Biscuit Company, Nabisco, sold its first Oreo sandwich cookie. Today the Oreo remains an iconic snack-time staple. We twist them; we dunk them; we love them. Remember this number-381. That’s the approximate number of times all the Oreo's ever manufactured could circle the earth if lined up end to end along the equator. Stacked, they could reach the moon and back more than five times. Come and try your skill stacking America’s favorite cookie, the Oreo cookie.

Astronomy Sponsored by the Spokane Astronomical Society Stop by The Spokane Astronomical Society booth on Saturday to look through telescopes of all different sizes, view sunspots and solar flares with special telescope filters. The Spokane Astronomical Society will be handing out free DVD’s and other prizes and their motto is “Astronomy for the fun of it!”. So come out and have some fun. The Star Gazer Planetarium will be located at CenterPlace Regional Event Center on Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Fishing at the Falls - Sponsored by Wholesale Sports Saturday, September 22, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM - This event is a great way to introduce children to the fun of fishing. There will be volunteers available at the Springs to help teach children to fish and provide information to both children and their parents. Poles and materials will be provided so that everyone can participate, regardless of their level of fishing experience. Fishing at Mirabeau Springs runs from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and is open to children 14 years of age and under.

Dove Races - Sunday, September 23, 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Come and watch the world’s fastest feathered friends duel in the sky. Children will get the chance to choose a dove to participate in Valleyfest’s 2nd Annual Dove Race. The concept of dove racing is similar to horse racing; all doves will start from Mirabeau Point Park and the first to enter the coop wins! A camera will be placed in the coop at the finish line and live footage will be shown during Valleyfest throughout the day.
