Bed Races

This year marks the 7th Annual Lion Club Bed Races. Join this community effort by entering with a team of (5) people to compete in this FUN event!

This FUNdraiser happens prior to the Valleyfest parade on Friday evening, September 21st beginning at 6:15 pm. The entire street (Sprague Avenue) closes at 6:00 p.m. and the human powered transportation street party begins with a large crowd to cheer on the bed racers. The entry fee for a team is only $150.00 and includes a 2018 Bed Race T-Shirt, beverage and a goody bag for each participant, as well as a carb up Spaghetti feed night before! Need a bed to race? There will be beds to rent for $25, by “Sleep in Heavenly Peace” a non-profit organization providing bunk beds to children in need. Each bed will be branded by SHP and bed race team pictures will be given to the bed recipients.

Let’s provide some much-needed beds and get creative!  Teams from businesses, churches, clubs, and families are encouraged to enter this event! It is a unique marketing tool for businesses through media contacts for the race, and through business name and logos incorporated in your bed’s design – be CREATIVE! This is also an opportunity for a team building exercise among employees. Prizes will be given for the team with the Best Bed Design, Team Spirit, and the Overall Winner for the race! Proceeds from this event will benefit the local community.

Staging will begin at N. Gillis Rd. in the parking lot at 5:45 p.m. Rules and heats announced 10 minutes prior to the start of the race.
