NASA Exhibit – Valleyfest 2018
A NASA Exhibit from NASA’s Johnson Space Center will be at Centerplace Regional Event Center on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 7AM to 5PM and Sunday, Sept. 23 from 11AM to 3PM to celebrate Spokane native, astronaut Anne McClain, and her journey to the International Space Station which will begin in December 2018.
The exhibit includes:
- A large panel display describing the International Space Station and where Anne will live
- Space Food
- 1960’s era Apollo Suit and Helmet
- A space shuttle model
- An astronaut’s glove to try on
- Various fascinating photos
Meet NASA Ambassador Joe Bruce! He’ll be the one in the astronaut jumpsuit! Touch his amazing artifacts, like his space glove, piece of Mars, and space shuttle tile. He wants to answer questions! The NASA Solar System Ambassadors (SSA) program works with motivated volunteers across the nation to share the latest science and discoveries of NASA’s missions through a variety of events that inspire their communities. Joe received a BA in Secondary Science Education from Central Washington University in 1981. Joe has been a member of the Planetary Society and Rotary Club 21, Spokane. He is an educator, lecturer, and artist who offers programs in Washington and Idaho.
NASA Ambassador Joe Bruce’s 45-minute NASA presentations will start every hour in the CenterPlace auditorium.
