The Hearts of Gold parade is a staple of Valleyfest and continues to recognize those in the Spokane Valley who give back to the community with their “hearts of gold.” Come watch our wide variety of parade entries, including animals, custom and classic cars, floats, bands, clowns, Miss Spokane Valley Royalty, and more!
Sprague Avenue closes to cars between University Road and Pines Road at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 21.
Come down to Sprague Avenue early before the road closures. Find good parking, catch the pre-parade entertainment (the 7th annual Lion Club Bed Races), and eat dinner along the parade route. There are 30 eateries on the parade route and include Arby’s, Baskin Robbins, Cool Beans, Darcy’s, Dave’s Bar & Grill, Denny’s, Domino’s, Dutch Bros, Ferraro’s, Flaming Joes, Grocery Outlet, Hopped Up, Hu Hot, Ichabod’s East, Iron Horse, Marandos, McDonalds, Monkey Bar, O’Doherty’s Pub & BBQ, Peking Palace, Pho Le Brothers, Pho Saigon Road House, Ron’ Drive In, Rosauer’s, Sam’s Stop & Shop, Senior Froggy, Taco Bell, Taste of Mexico, Three Sisters, Thrifty Scotsman, Top of India, Two Columns, Zip Trip, Zips Starbucks, Taco Time, Burger King, Brass Faucet Bar & Grill, and Conley’s Place.
Parade Grand Marshal: Hutton Settlement Children’s Home
Hutton Settlement Children’s Home started when one humble man’s dream became reality. Founded by L.W. Hutton in 1919, the organization provides a safe and healthy living opportunity for children, ages 5-18 in need of an alternate home. With a focus on attachment-care, social emotional learning, servant leadership and sustainable living, their residents participate in many programs that help prepare them for what lies ahead.
The Hearts of Gold Parade starts at Appleway Florist and finishes at Perrine Road.
