Valleyfest Chess Tournament

Presented by Inland Chess Academy, the Valleyfest Chess Tournament welcomes players of all ages and skill levels. The Scholastic division (K-12) includes a beginner’s section, and the USCF Open is open to scholastic and adult players alike. This tournament is a WA State qualifier and a 2X Inland Chess Grand Prix event.

Register by email, phone, or text — payment is due at the tournament. Include the player’s name, school, and grade.

Fees:
- Early registration: $25 (by 6:00 pm, Friday, September 25)
- Late/walk-in registration: $30
- $1 of every registration fee supports the scholarship fund
Scholastic Division (K-12)
- Check-in: 9:00 – 9:30 am
- Format: Five-round Swiss, G/30 — first round begins at 10:00 am
- Players arriving after 9:40 am will not be paired for round one and will receive a half-point bye
- All students play all five games; later rounds begin as soon as the prior round finishes
- Includes a beginner’s section plus one or two additional sections, based on registration
- Raffle and awards ceremony follow the final round, typically wrapping by 4:00 pm
USCF Open (Scholastic & Adult)
- Check-in: 9:00 – 9:30 am
- Format: Four-round Swiss, G/40 d/5
- Game times: 10:00 am, 11:30 am, 1:00 pm, 2:30 pm
- Cash awards based on number of players
- USCF membership required; memberships can be processed on-site
