Valleyfest 5K/10K Run

5K or 10K Run

Both 5K and 10K runs are Bloomsday second-seed qualifying races. This is a timed race. Timing provided by Negative Split.

The run costs are $35 for the 5K and $40 for the 10K. All registrations before September 11, at 10:00 a.m., will receive a t-shirt. No same-day registrations.

Athletes run west past the Plantes Ferry obelisk to Island Trailhead and continue over the Spokane River on the Denny Ashlock Bridge, turn left, then turn around near milepost 12 on the Centennial Trail for a 5K loop.

Same start as the 5K but continues further on the Centennial Trail. Turn around a short distance passed the South Mirabeau Trail Head for a 10K loop.

Park at the Plantes Ferry West Picnic Shelter parking lot. If the west parking lot is full, then go to the east parking lot off of Wellesley and walk over.

No t-shirt for runners who register after September 11, at 10:00 a.m. No registration is available day of the event.

Valleyfest Duathlon

Duathlon
(Run – Bike – Run)

Three leg race. 5-Kilometer Run, then 11-mile Bike, and finish with another 5-Kilometer Run for a total of 10K of running and 11 miles of biking. This is a timed race. Timing provided by Negative Split.

$45 for an individual, $60 for a team of two people, $75 for a team of three people. All registrations before September 11, at 10:00 a.m., will receive a t-shirt. No same-day registrations.

The annual Valleyfest Duathlon race begins at the Plantes Ferry West Picnic Shelter. Athletes run west past the Plantes Ferry obelisk to Island Trailhead. Runners continue over the Spokane River on the Denny Ashlock Bridge and turn around at about milepost 12 on the Centennial Trail for a 5K loop.

The 11-mile bike course takes a right turn out of the Plantes Ferry west parking lot eastbound to the turnaround at Flora Rd (Skyview Elementary parking lot) and westbound to the turnaround at Farr Road. Then bikers return to Plantes Ferry transition area for the final running leg of the Duathlon.

The duathlon athletes finish the race by duathletes a 5K run loop as described in Leg 1.

Triathlon
(Boat – Bike – Run)

1.5 miles boat on the Spokane River, then bike 11 miles, then run 3 miles. This is a timed race. Timing provided by Negative Split.

$50 for an individual, $65 for a team of two, $80 for a team of three. All registrations before September 11, at 10:00 a.m., will receive a t-shirt. No same-day registrations.

Rowers start in-group heats at 8:00 a.m. at the South Centennial Trail Head – at CenterPlace Regional Event Center (2426 N. Discovery Place Spokane Valley) on the Spokane River. All transitions take place at Plantes Ferry Sports Complex west picnic shelter area. The 1.5-mile kayak/canoe course is downstream on the Spokane River past the David Govedare’s sculpture of Antoine Plante and take out/boat deposit near the Plantes Ferry obelisk.

The 11-mile bike course takes a right turn out of the Plantes Ferry west parking lot eastbound to the turnaround at Flora Rd (Skyview Elementary parking lot) and westbound to the turnaround at Farr Road. Then bikers return to Plantes Ferry transition area for the final running leg of the Duathlon.
